Admissions
All pupils will have a statement for special educational needs.
The admittance process would normally follow certain steps:
1) The L.A. will send the completed Statement and relevant reports to the school
2) The Head Teacher, in consultation with members of S.E.N.A.G. (Special Educational Needs Advisory Group) will decide whether Chantry is a suitable placement for the student.
3) Once the S.E.N.A.G. has met and made its decision, parents of prospective students will be invited to attend for pre-admission meeting, an opportunity to see the school and discuss any concerns. The meeting will take place during normal school hours. We liaise closely with The Willows primary school to set an individual induction programme for students coming to Chantry in year 7.
4) Where there are more referrals than places, and in order to make the best use of resources, the following factors will be taken into consideration:
-
Preference will be given to those who demonstrate a good attendance record.
-
In order to maintain even balance of year groups, preference will be given to
Lower School students in priority order, Year 7, Year 8 then Year 9.
-
To maintain a reasonable gender balance, and in order to secure provision equally for girls and boys, the school may give preference to female students.
-
Preference will be given to Hillingdon children, because of distance from school and travelling time.
A post admission meeting is arranged 4-6 weeks after the pupil’s start date in order to review the transition to the new school.
If you would like to visit our school please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
